‘Midnight’s Children’ renamed as ‘Winds of Change’

Siddarth is going international with Canadian writer-director Deepa Mehta’s film adaptation of “ Midnight’s Children” a famous novel written by Booker Prize winner Salman Rushdie.  The title of the film is renamed as Winds of Change.  The other cast in the movie include Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher, Soha Ali Khan, Rahul Bose, Irrfan Khan, Nandita Das and so on.
‘Midnight’s Children’ portrays India through the eyes of protagonist Saleem Sinai, whose birthday coincides with Independence Day, August 15th.  The story depicts the events of pre and post independence including the partition of India. The movie is soon to set the floors.
Deepa Mehta, who made films like Earth, Fire and Water, is also one of the five Oscar nominees in the ‘Best Foreign Film’ category in 2005 for the movie Water.
